Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college/university program related to safety or engineering and at least 1 year of completed education.
• Basic knowledge of safety and environmental principles and techniques.
• Desire to work in construction management and learn about the construction industry.
• Flexible to work standard business hours and overtime as needed.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in safety and loss control activities on construction projects or office locations.
• Assist with implementing safety programs and reporting unsafe practices.
• Assist with coordinating safety duties for committees, preplanning and toolbox meetings.
• Assist with coordinating training at safety meetings and orientations.
• Assist with reviewing subcontractor safety programs for compliance.
• Assist with promoting safe work practices in line with regulations and owner requirements.
• Assist with administering drug screening programs as required.
• Assist with preconstruction meetings and documenting meetings under supervision.
• Assist with site inspections and developing inspection summaries.
• Assist with maintaining safety records and incident metrics.
• Assist with worker orientation programs and record participation.
