Job summary

Hensel Phelps seeks a Safety Engineer to support the safety manager and project team on construction projects. You will help implement safety policies, monitor activities, and correct unsafe acts in both field and office settings. This is a safety-sensitive role within a demanding environment.

The position emphasizes collaboration with stakeholders, adherence to EM 385-1-1 standards, and participation in ongoing safety training to ensure premier safety performance across projects.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree is preferred.
• Occupational Safety and Health degree suggested.
• Valid Driver's License, required.
• Strong communication skills.
• MS Office Suite, Excel templates, Prolog, Primavera and AutoDesk Suite.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Hensel Phelps staff, craft and trade partners.
• Follow safety program, owner requirements, and applicable standards (EM 385-1-1).
• Assist project superintendent with accident prevention plan and safety management tools.
• Participate in the six-step quality control/safety process including activity hazard analyses.
• Conduct project safety audits and update project records.
• Assist with OSHA inspections and incident investigations.
• Monitor safety performance of Hensel Phelps and trade partners.
• Attend awareness and competent person level safety courses.
• Learn construction processes and various roles on site.
