Job summary

City of New York’s Department of Design and Construction, Division of Safety & Site Support, is seeking a Project Manager to oversee construction safety programs, perform field audits, and monitor safety compliance across capital projects. The role reports to the Deputy Director and supports performance reporting for senior management.

Responsibilities include coordinating with multiple divisions, analyzing safety data, and delivering timely status updates.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field with one year of project management experience.
• A four-year high school diploma or equivalent with five years of relevant experience.
• Credit for college coursework toward a degree as allowed by the education pathway.

Responsibilities

• Conduct contractor safety performance evaluations and field audits.
• Prepare safety progress reports and monitor KPIs for continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with divisions and agencies to ensure Site Safety Plan compliance.
