Job summary

The City of New York's Department of Design and Construction, Safety and Site Support Division, seeks a Construction Project Manager – 34202 to oversee quality assurance on capital projects. You will inspect materials, witness tests, review drawings, and coordinate testing services across laboratories and vendors.

Candidates must meet civil service criteria or be on open-competitive lists, and must have authorization to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year high school diploma or equivalent and five years of full-time experience managing/inspecting construction projects with minimum cost thresholds.
• Or one year of experience plus a Bachelor’s degree in engineering/related field.
• Or one year of experience plus a professional engineer/architect license.
• Or combination of education and experience to reach five years total.

Responsibilities

• Inspect materials at manufacturing plants and at testing laboratories, including out-of-town locations.
• Witness tests and prepare reports; review drawings and applicable standards.
• Coordinate inspection/testing services by consultants; review test results and vendor approvals.
