Layton Construction seeks an Assistant Project Manager to help plan, manage, and execute construction projects. Candidates may handle multiple projects, ensuring quality, owner satisfaction, and profitability while fostering strong client relationships.

This role emphasizes teamwork, pre-construction planning, subcontractor coordination, schedule development, budget control, and close-out procedures. Relocation to the project site is required for this national operator.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects, preferably in light industrial or cold storage.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills; reads blueprints and applies building codes.
• Ethics and organizational policy adherence; problem solving and planning ability.
• Ability to work with others, be organized, and manage resources efficiently.
• Professional affiliations and credentials (e.g. PE) preferred; basic Spanish optional.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, management, and execution of construction projects.
• Assist in pre-construction planning, estimates, budgets, and scheduling.
• Negotiate subcontracts and manage changes with schedule and cost implications.
• Coordinate project meetings, submittals, and documentation; ensure timely close-out.
• Develop owner relationships and monitor project quality, safety, and risk.
• Mentor project engineers and oversee procurement within budget.
