Job summary

ARCO National Holdings in Southfield, MI is seeking a motivated Project Manager Intern to support our design-build teams this summer.

You will assist with estimating, scheduling, design meetings, buyout, permitting, submittals, billing, and site visits while gaining real-world experience toward a full-time career.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in Civil/Mechanical/Architectural or Construction Management programs with a 3.0+ GPA, strong communication, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Civil/Mechanical/Architectural or Construction Management Bachelor's degree program.
• GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Previous Internship or Co-op construction experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Estimating: describe project proposals and assign dollar values.
• Scheduling: create a working timeline for subcontractors to complete the project on time.
• Design meetings: attend meetings with owner and team to understand proposals.
• Buyout: send bid instructions, schedule and drawings to subs; receive and evaluate proposals; award subcontracts.
• Permitting: fill out permit forms and submit with drawings/fees for approval.
• Shop drawing/submittal review: relay to PM and coordinate material orders.
• Billing: manage subcontracts, change orders, pay requests, and pay applications.
• Job site visits: accompany PM to ensure project runs smoothly.
