Job summary

ARCO National Construction Company is seeking a motivated Project Manager Intern to support our summer team in Michigan. You will assist with estimating, scheduling, and design meetings to understand proposals from engineers and architects.

Responsibilities include buyout tasks, permitting, review of shop drawings, and processing billing with the project team. The role offers exposure to real-world construction management, with opportunities to travel to job sites and engage in leadership

Qualifications

• GPA 3.0/4.0 minimum
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Previous internship or co-op construction experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Estimating – Describe project proposals and assign dollar values
• Scheduling – Create a working timeline for subcontractors/trades to complete the project on time
• Attend design meetings with owner and team to understand proposals from structural engineers and architects
• Buyout – Send bid instructions, schedule, and drawings to subcontractors, evaluate proposals, and award subcontracts
• Permitting – Fill out permit forms, submit with drawings and fees, and await approvals
• Shop drawing/submittal review – Review and coordinate with PM for material orders
• Billing – Handle subcontracts, change orders, pay requests, and pay applications
• Job site visits – Visit site with PM to ensure project runs smoothly
