Job summary

Harris Companies, inc. is seeking a Construction Project Manager Intern for Summer 2027 in Ohio. You will gain hands-on experience across pre-job planning, during construction, and closeout activities, turning classroom lessons into real-world skills.

You'll work with a team to estimate, set up projects, manage permits, track materials, and support change orders and RFIs while developing strong reading of construction documents and math-driven analyses.

Qualifications

• Must be a current student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in the construction industry and project management.
• Ability to read and comprehend construction documents.
• Demonstrated proficiency of math and analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Support pre-job activities including estimating, job setup, contracts, permits, and insurance certificates.
• Assist during construction with safety, purchasing, submittals, and tracking of materials and equipment.
• Support productivity tracking, change orders, and RFIs.
• Contribute to accurate project documentation and reporting.
• Assist with project closeout tasks, including O&M manuals and drawings/warranties.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure project milestones are met.

Construction Project Manager Intern

Note: This internship is for Summer 2027

Your role as a Construction Project Manager Intern

Our mission is to provide college students with on the job experience and knowledge of the construction process. As a Project Manager intern you will be given hands on opportunities to turn classroom lessons into real life skills in the construction industry.

Throughout the internship, you will have expose to all aspects of a project, start to finish, including the following:

Pre-Job:

• Estimating
• Job Setup
• Job contracts
• Permits and insurance certificates

During Construction:

• Safety
• Purchasing
• Submittals
• Tracking materials & equipment
• Productivity tracking
• Change orders and tracking
• RFIs

Job Closeout:

• Project closeout O&M manuals
• As-recording drawings and warranties

• Must be a current student working toward degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in the construction industry and project management
• Ability to read and comprehend construction documents
• Demonstrated proficiency of math and analytical skills
• Must have strong interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication while working in a team environment

Pay Range: $21.37 - $32.05

The actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on a wide range of factors such as specific skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
