Job summary

Harris Companies is seeking a Construction Project Management Intern for Summer 2027 in Las Vegas, NV. The internship provides hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle—from pre-job to closeout—under the guidance of seasoned professionals.

You will assist in estimating, contracts, permits, safety, purchasing, submittals, and tracking materials and progress while developing key skills in reading construction documents and communicating effectively within a team.

Qualifications

• Must be a current student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Ability to read and comprehend construction documents.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with estimating, contracts, permits, and insurance certificates.
• Support purchasing, submittals, and tracking materials.
• Track field personnel, productivity, and change orders.
• Read and interpret construction documents.
• Participate in project closeout, O&M manuals, and warranties.

Job Description:

Your role as a Project Manager Intern

Our mission is to provide college students with on the job experience and knowledge of the construction process. As a Project Manager intern you will be given hands on opportunities to turn classroom lessons into real life skills in the construction industry.

Throughout the internship, you will have expose to all aspects of a project, start to finish, including the following:

Pre-Job:

• Estimating
• Job contracts
• Permits and insurance certificates

During Construction:

• Safety
• Purchasing
• Submittals
• Tracking materials & equipment
• Field personal tracking
• Productivity tracking
• Change order submittals and tracking

Job Closeout:

• Project closeout O&M manuals
• As-recording drawings warranties

What we're looking for in you

• Must be a current student working toward degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in the construction industry and project management
• Ability to read and comprehend construction documents
• Demonstrated proficiency of math and analytical skills
• Must have strong interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication while working in a team environment

Pay Range:

$19.42 - $29.14
