Job summary

Harris Companies is offering a Construction Project Manager Intern role for Summer 2027 in the United States. The internship provides hands-on experience turning classroom lessons into real-world construction skills, covering pre-job, during construction, and closeout activities.

As a student in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management, you will participate in estimating, job setup, permits, safety, purchasing, submittals, tracking, RFIs, and closeout documents.

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in the construction industry and project management.
• Ability to read and comprehend construction documents.
• Demonstrated proficiency of math and analytical skills.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication while working in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Pre-Job activities: estimating, job setup, contracts, permits and insurance certificates.
• Support during construction: safety, purchasing, submittals, tracking materials and equipment, productivity tracking, change orders, RFIs.
• Assist with Job Closeout: O&M manuals, as-recording drawings and warranties.

Your role as a Construction Project Manager Intern

Our mission is to provide college students with on the job experience and knowledge of the construction process. As a Project Manager intern you will be given hands on opportunities to turn classroom lessons into real life skills in the construction industry.

Throughout the internship, you will have expose to all aspects of a project, start to finish, including the following:

Pre-Job:

• Estimating
• Job Setup
• Job contracts
• Permits and insurance certificates

During Construction:

• Safety
• Purchasing
• Submittals
• Tracking materials & equipment
• Productivity tracking
• Change orders and tracking
• RFIs

Job Closeout:

• Project closeout O&M manuals
• As-recording drawings and warranties

• Must be a current student working toward degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

  Pay Range:

  $16.51 - $24.77

  The actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on a wide range of factors such as specific skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
