Harris is offering a Construction Project Manager Intern role for Summer 2027 in Columbus, OH. The internship provides hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle, from pre-job tasks through closeout, with exposure to estimating, contracts, safety, purchasing, submittals and more.

The program targets students in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields, emphasizing math, analytics, and teamwork. Join a leading national contractor with strong regional presence.

Qualifications

• Must be a current student working toward a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in the construction industry and project management.
• Ability to read and comprehend construction documents.
• Demonstrated proficiency of math and analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Job: Assisting with estimating, job setup, contracts, permits and insurance certificates.
• During Construction: Involvement with safety, purchasing, submittals, tracking materials and equipment, productivity, change orders, and RFIs.
• Job Closeout: Assisting with project closeout manuals, as-recording drawings and warranties.

Construction Project Manager Intern

Note: This internship is for Summer 2027

Your role as a Construction Project Manager Intern

Our mission is to provide college students with on the job experience and knowledge of the construction process. As a Project Manager intern you will be given hands on opportunities to turn classroom lessons into real life skills in the construction industry.

Throughout the internship, you will have expose to all aspects of a project, start to finish, including the following:

Pre-Job:

• Estimating
• Job Setup
• Job contracts
• Permits and insurance certificates

During Construction:

• Safety
• Purchasing
• Submittals
• Tracking materials & equipment
• Productivity tracking
• Change orders and tracking
• RFIs

Job Closeout:

• Project closeout O&M manuals
• As-recording drawings and warranties

Pay Range:

$21.37 - $32.05
