Job summary

Harris is seeking a Construction Project Manager Intern for Summer 2027. This internship offers college students hands-on opportunities to learn about the construction process and gain real-life skills in the industry.

You will be involved in all project aspects, from estimating and job setup to safety and closeout. Strong skills in math and communication are essential. Harris provides a supportive team environment and numerous benefits including insurance, 401K, and paid leave.

Qualifications

• Must be a current student working toward a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in the construction industry and project management.
• Ability to read and comprehend construction documents.
• Demonstrated proficiency of math and analytical skills.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Expose to all aspects of a project, start to finish.
• Assist in estimating, job setup, job contracts, permits, and insurance certificates.
• Participate in safety, purchasing, submittals, and tracking materials & equipment.

Your role as a Construction Project Manager Intern

Our mission is to provide college students with on the job experience and knowledge of the construction process. As a Project Manager intern you will be given hands on opportunities to turn classroom lessons into real life skills in the construction industry.

Throughout the internship, you will have expose to all aspects of a project, start to finish, including the following:

Pre-Job

• Estimating
• Job Setup
• Job contracts
• Permits and insurance certificates

During Construction

• Safety
• Purchasing
• Submittals
• Tracking materials & equipment
• Productivity tracking
• Change orders and tracking
• RFIs

Job Closeout

• Project closeout O&M manuals
• As-recording drawings and warranties

What We're Looking For In You

• Must be a current student working toward degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in the construction industry and project management
• Ability to read and comprehend construction documents
• Demonstrated proficiency of math and analytical skills

Pay Range

$21.37 - $32.05

The actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on a wide range of factors such as specific skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
