Job summary

Qualifications

• Monitor contractor performance across scope, cost, schedule, quality, safety, and contract compliance.
• Review drawings, contracts, RFIs, NCRs, change orders, and technical requirements.
• Track costs, quantities, billings, invoices, forecasts, and cash flow.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, owners, engineers, and internal teams to maintain progress.
• Prepare project reports, meeting minutes, action logs, and executive updates.

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager for a temp-to-hire, field-based opportunity supporting major power generation and heavy industrial construction projects in Wheatfield, IN. This role is ideal for a hands‑on construction professional with strong project controls experience, general contracting knowledge, and a background in complex industrial construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Support field construction management and day‑to‑day project execution across complex industrial construction projects.
• Monitor contractor performance related to scope, cost, schedule, quality, safety, productivity, and contract compliance.
• Review drawings, specifications, schedules, contracts, RFIs, NCRs, change orders, technical requirements, and project documentation.
• Track project costs, quantities, billings, invoices, forecasts, productivity, cash flow, and overall project controls data.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, owners, engineers, and internal project teams to resolve issues and maintain project progress.
• Prepare project reports, meeting minutes, action‑item logs, executive updates, and supporting documentation for project leadership.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Support construction project execution for major power generation and heavy industrial construction projects.
• Manage project controls activities including cost tracking, schedules, forecasts, quantities, invoices, and contract documentation.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, suppliers, engineers, and project stakeholders.
• Assist project leadership with change orders, claims, RFIs, NCRs, quality activities, logistics, procurement, and issue resolution.
• 3 to 5+ years of relevant construction management, project controls, or field construction experience.
• General contracting and heavy industrial construction experience required.
• Experience supporting large, complex construction projects in field‑based environments.
• Working knowledge of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical construction activities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, contracts, schedules, and project requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced project environment.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Willingness to work on site at least 5 days per week and adjust working hours based on project needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with combined‑cycle or simple‑cycle power plant construction highly preferred.
• Prior experience supporting power generation, industrial facilities, infrastructure, or major EPC‑style construction projects preferred.
