Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern to apply standard engineering techniques and assist lead engineers on project tasks. This role supports design updates and construction-phase services across multiple market segments.

Interns must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, maintain good academic standing, and demonstrate strong communication and leadership potential.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field from an accredited program.
• Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education program in a field related to the work done in the department.
• Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks requiring the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Assist lead engineers with various project duties and other duties as assigned.
• Aid in correcting and updating designs.
• Support construction phase services and project management in market segments.
