Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking Engineering Interns to assist with standard engineering tasks, designs, and updates. The role supports lead engineers across market segments, including construction, with emphasis on safety, quality, and project management.

Strong communication and leadership are valued as well as a solid GPA. Ideal candidates are enrolled in an accredited program, legally eligible to work in the United States full-time, and have prior internship or related consulting experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
• Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education program in a field related to the work done in the department.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks requiring application of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Assist lead engineers with project duties and design updates.
• Contribute to construction phase services and project management support where applicable.
• Support multiple market segments with assigned tasks.
