Job summary

Burns & McDonnell seeks an Engineering Intern to apply standard engineering techniques, assist lead engineers, and update designs across markets. Responsibilities vary by market, with construction-focused duties including safety, estimating, field operations and project management.

Applicants should be enrolled in an accredited engineering or construction program and legally authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field from an accredited program.
• Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education program in a field related to the work done in the department.
• Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead engineers with project duties and update/correct designs as assigned.
• Perform tasks applying standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Contribute to construction phase services and support safety, health, estimating and project management.
