Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Kansas City, MO is offering a Seasonal Intern position in our Construction group. The role provides hands-on exposure to project management, safety protocols, and coordination with engineers, architects, and subcontractors on local projects.

As an Intern, you will assist with day-to-day activities, attend site visits, and learn how to prepare estimates, RFIs, submittals, and correspondence.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college/university degree program or a Co-op, with at least 1 year of completed education.
• Must be 18 years of age or older to work on a construction site.
• Desire to learn about construction management and the industry.
• Commitment to standard business hours and potential overtime.
• Demonstrate interpersonal skills and leadership or volunteer experience.
• Professional written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day supervised activities to develop construction project knowledge.
• Support project team with meetings, material tracking, file management, and progress reporting.
• Follow site safety rules and wear PPE as required.
• Relate academic learning to on-site work activities and project coordination.
• Maintain professional relationships with employees, customers, and subcontractors.
• Participate in training, meetings, and project orientation.
• Assist with start-up activities, RFIs, submittals, and contract information as applicable.
• Assist with quantity take-offs and project close-out preparations.
