Job summary

Turner Construction invites college students to apply for a Safety Internship in Kansas City. You will gain hands-on experience in construction safety and loss control on projects or office locations.

You will learn how our team implements safety programs and supports a diverse, inclusive environment. During the internship, you will support building LIFE practices, assist in safety briefings, and work with supervisors to promote safe work practices across projects.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college/university program in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field with at least 1 year completed.
• Basic knowledge of safety and environmental principles and techniques.
• Desire to work in construction management and learn about the construction industry.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to work with basic data entry tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing Building L.I.F.E. and project safety programs on site or at the office.
• Identify and report safety violations or unsafe practices, including imminent danger situations.
• Coordinate safety duties for safety committees, preplanning meetings, and toolbox talks.
• Coordinate training at safety meetings, toolbox talks, and orientations.
• Review subcontractor safety programs for completeness and compliance with policies.
