Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an Intern/Co-Op to gain foundational knowledge across construction management, business and project financial management, safety protocols, subcontractor relationships, quality control, and lifecycle coordination.

You may be assigned to an active site in Kansas City, or to a main-office department such as Preconstruction/Estimating, Business Development, SPD, or SPO, depending on business needs.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited degree program; recommended majors include Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management.
• Desire to work in construction management and learn about the construction industry.
• Flexible to work standard business hours and overtime as determined by assignment.
• Demonstrate interpersonal skills including leadership, volunteering, or community involvement.
• Professional and clear verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support project team with meeting coordination, material tracking, file management, document control, and progress reporting.
• Provide progress reports to supervisor and learn construction management aspects.
• Relate academic knowledge to company/project setting.
• Maintain professional relationships with employees, customers, clients, and subcontractors.
• Participate in training, meetings, and orientation.
• Assist with early project start-up activities and support to Project Engineer/Manager.
