Job summary

General Sheet Metal is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Special Projects Team through all phases of the project life cycle. You will coordinate with clients, PMs, foremen, and subs to ensure safe, on-time, within-budget execution. Responsibilities include document control, submittals, RFIs, change orders, procurement and closeout.

You’ll assist with schedule, budget, and safety needs while maintaining thorough project files and regular communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree/technical school preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written communications and active listening skills.
• Detail-oriented with high standards for accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Smartsheet.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, time management and problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of document control and tracking processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support project goals with PM, Foreman, client, and subcontractors.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, procurement, and contract administration.
• Maintain project documentation, files, and closeout documents.
• Assist in safety auditing and field coordination.
• Support Special Projects Team across all project phases.
