Job summary

Pacificmark Construction Corp. seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support planning and daily project performance.

You will assist with submittals, RFIs, scheduling, budgeting and logistics, coordinating delivery of materials and maintaining project records. Responsibilities include expediting the schedule, preparing scope of work, coordinating client communications, and assisting with safety programs in collaboration with the Project Manager.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts to the construction team in meetings with Owners and Subcontractors.
  • MS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of Construction projects from beginning to completion; MEP systems; MS Office Suite; Bluebeam; LEED; Construction Safety (OSHA)

Responsibilities

  • Support field in expediting schedule, completion of field paperwork, expediting materials.
  • Prepare scope of work instructions, technical requirements and bid packages for subcontractor and vendor items.
  • Support Project Manager with client communication regarding project schedules.
  • Maintain customer relationships.
  • Develop project specific Safety Programs in coordination with Safety Manager and Project Manager.
  • Attend project meetings with General Contractor, Owner, Architect, and others.
  • Review contract documents and drawings for design inconsistencies and conflicts.
  • Write field questions and expedite answers to facilitate fabrication and installation.
  • Assist in documenting changes and maintaining project records.
  • Utilize Procore to review shop drawings, submittals and safety requirements.
  • Maintain project schedule and assist in maintaining the project computerized schedule.
  • Attend and setup punch list walk-through; provide close-out information to the client.
  • Visit site to familiarize with site conditions and scope of work.
  • Prepare quantity takeoffs and assist in review of contracts and proposals.
  • Assist with purchasing documents and cost sheets for purchasing control.
  • Build relationships with project team members and clients.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients.

Job description

Responsible for assisting Project Manager with the planning and daily performance of construction projects by managing the process of submittals, submitting RFIs, coordinating delivery of materials, maintaining schedules, budgets and logistical planning. Specific duties include:

  • PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
    • Support field in expediting schedule, completion of field paperwork, expediting materials.
    • Prepare scope of work instructions, technical requirements and bid packages for subcontractor and vendor items.
    • Support Project Manager with client communication regarding project schedules.
    • Maintain customer relationships.
    • Develop project specific Safety Programs in coordination with Safety Manager and Project Manager.
    • Assist and support Project Manager by attending project meetings with General Contractor, Owner, Architect, and others.
    • Working knowledge of the contract documents to include reviewing all drawings and specifications for design inconsistencies and conflicts.
    • Know and understand the subcontract documents as they apply to assigned areas of responsibility.
    • Write field questions and expedite answers from Architect to allow the assigned components of the work to be fabricated and installed in the most efficient manner.
    • Assist in documenting changes, maintain project record drawings and specifications. Maintain project records, specifications and plans.
    • Receive and distribute information on clarifications and changes in the work for areas of responsibility.
    • Utilize Procore to review and approve shop drawings, submittals and safety requirements for assigned tasks.
    • Working knowledge of project schedule and assist in maintaining the project computerized schedule.
  • PROJECT CLOSE OUT:
    • Attend and setup punch list walk-through as needed; compile the punch list and forward to Project Manager and Project Superintendent.
    • Provide required close out information to the client at the end of the project (record drawings, O&M, warranties)
    • Assist in maintaining the project files, close-out and storage of documents at completion.
  • ESTIMATING:
    • Visit the site to familiarize yourself with the site conditions and scope of work.
    • Prepare quantity takeoffs as required.
    • Assist Project Manager in review of contracts and proposals.
    • Review specifications and scope of work.
  • PURCHASING:
    • Manage project specific materials and equipment purchases including sourcing, maintaining vendor relations, ordering and tracking deliveries, and receiving and processing invoices.
    • Prepare and issue purchasing documents (i.e.: Subcontracts, Purchasing Orders, Service Agreements) with the Project Manager.
    • Assist with the preparation of a cost sheet for each project to maintain purchasing control.
  • CUSTOMER RELATIONS & COMMUNICATIONS:
    • Build relationships with project team members, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers and end users.
    • Collaborate and foster positive communication with team members, management and clients.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate complex concepts to the construction team in meeting settings with Owners and Subcontractors.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • MS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field
  • Knowledge of the following through education and/or experience:
    • Construction projects from beginning to completion
