Job summary

Uprite Construction in Irvine, CA is seeking a Project Engineer to work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and clients to keep projects organized and moving forward.

You will support projects from preconstruction through closeout, gaining experience across both the field and project management sides of construction, while coordinating RFIs, submittals, scheduling, procurement, and turnover documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
• Internship or experience as Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or Assistant Project Manager with a general contractor is a plus.
• Understanding of drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with day-to-day project coordination.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change documentation, and project correspondence.
• Review drawings, specs, submittals, and other construction documents.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and internal teams.
• Maintain project logs and ensure outstanding items are completed.
• Assist with subcontractor procurement, scopes of work, buyout, and contract docs.
• Support project scheduling and identify issues affecting milestones.
• Assist with change orders, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial docs.
• Participate in meetings with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Prepare meeting minutes and follow up on actions.
• Work with field leadership to resolve drawings, coordination, constructability, scheduling issues.
• Help ensure subcontractors have information to perform their work.
• Assist with permitting, inspections, and coordination with local jurisdictions.
• Support quality control and safety expectations.
• Assist with punch lists, turnover docs, warranties, and closeout.
• Maintain accurate and organized project records.
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and internal team members.
