Job summary

Big-D Construction in Irvine, CA is seeking a Project Engineer to support field operations, document management, submittals, RFIs and procurement. The role partners with the Project Manager and Superintendent to maintain schedules and project costs.

The ideal candidate has a Construction Management background and 2–4 years of industrial construction experience, with a focus on accuracy, communication, and teamwork in a dynamic project environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience on industrial construction projects.
• Ability to drive project success and cost awareness.
• Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review submittals.
• Write and track RFIs and process or assist in change orders.
• Prepare and maintain meeting agendas and minutes.
• Maintain construction drawings; provide marketing assistance as required.
• Assist Project Manager and Superintendent with subcontract and schedule administration.
• Keep drawings and as-builts up to date.
• Prepare and manage procurement tracking logs.
• Ensure safety and OSHA compliance on site.
• Monitor job costs and budget impacts with the project team.
• Assist in creating and modifying subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Coordinate with the project manager on master subcontract agreements.
