Job summary

Rudolph & Sletten, a Tutor Perini Company, seeks a Project Engineer for our Menlo Park, CA office to support the Project Manager and Superintendent in organizing, scheduling, and recording construction activities. The role requires engagement with drawings, submittals, RFIs, and field coordination on high-profile projects in California.

Responsibilities include daily site oversight, meeting minute transcription, RFIs, value engineering, and coordination across contractors and consultants.

Responsibilities

• Attend weekly meetings and transcribe detailed meeting minutes clearly, precisely, and accurately
• Inspect construction site daily and work with subcontractors to schedule deliveries
• Review designs and drawings for craft installations and qualifications
• Review Submittals and Shop Drawings for contract document compliance
• Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems and initiate RFIs as needed
• Initiate and process RFIs, then review responses for completeness
• Understand and maintain the PCO/change order process and submission to Owner
• Disseminate Submittals, RFIs, Close Out, Punch List, and document workflows to consultants, Owner, and subcontractors
• Review and track Expediting Log
• Coordinate all submittals between subcontractors
• Prepare field design change requisitions and as-built drawings
• Prepare and disseminate status reports, punch lists, and other construction records
• Comment on design viability and conduct value engineering as required
• Attend meetings with contractors, subcontractors, clients, or A/E representatives
• Demonstrate knowledge of construction equipment, drawings, materials, and standards
• Observe field construction work
• Participate in job walks to document findings and issues
• Generate queries and reports in Procore
• Perform quantity takeoffs
• Establish and complete submittal and project close-out logs
• Be dependable, thorough, and able to learn quickly
• Analyze and resolve construction process issues and communicate at all levels
