Aston Carter is seeking a Project Accountant for a contract-to-hire role in Dublin, OH. The candidate will oversee full-cycle project cost management for large construction initiatives and manage subcontractor change processes, ensuring accurate change orders and compliant financial records.

Required are a relevant degree and 1+ year of project accounting in construction, plus strong familiarity with Procore or Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 1+ year of project accounting or finance experience in construction.
• 13+ years in project management, cost management, or accounting within commercial construction.
• Strong understanding of construction accounting principles.
• Hands-on change order lifecycle experience: initiation to closeout.
• Experience using Procore or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Experience with reconciliation and data entry in high-volume settings.
• Ability to interpret contractual terms related to change orders and claims.

Aufgaben

• Support full-cycle cost management for large construction projects from concept to completion.
• Manage subcontractor change management and ensure documentation is complete and timely.
• Process change orders in the system of record with data integrity.
• Audit and reconcile project financial data for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and present monthly cost reports and risk assessments with insights.
• Contribute to stakeholder meetings with data-driven commentary on costs.
• Review contractual terms to advise on entitlements for change orders and disputes.
• Coordinate with client finance teams to ensure reporting accuracy and controls.
• Analyze local labor markets, union implications, and commodity price trends.
• Resolve invoice and change order discrepancies with contractors and teams.
• Maintain records of all project accounting transactions and compliance docs.
• Collaborate with Project Cost Manager on forecasting and risk assessment.
