Job description

Construction Project Coordinator (Local Candidates Only)

We are a small, growing construction management and owner‑representation firm specializing in complex renovation and capital improvement projects throughout the Los Angeles area. Our work combines practical field understanding with professional documentation and client service.

We’re seeking a Construction Project Coordinator to support our field and project management operations for an exterior waterproofing and concrete restoration project within an occupied residential complex in Marina del Rey, CA.

This role is ideal for someone who understands construction sequencing, enjoys being on site, and is confident in observing, documenting, and communicating work progress and quality. The position may be structured as part‑time (preferred), half‑time, or full‑time, depending on experience and company needs.

A dedicated on‑site office is provided. Full‑time employees are expected to maintain a regular on‑site presence during working hours to monitor contractor activities, track progress, and support project coordination efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observe and document ongoing waterproofing and concrete restoration work.
  • Prepare clear, concise daily field reports and photographic records for review by senior staff.
  • Maintain accurate project tracking logs, including RFIs, Submittals, and the Construction Issues Log used for field observations and coordination items.
  • Monitor and document conformance with the owner‑contractor agreement.
  • Assist with weekly progress updates and monthly reports to ownership.
  • Attend and document coordination meetings (on‑site or virtual).
  • Communicate professionally with county inspectors, contractors, consultants, vendors, and ownership representatives.
  • Support senior staff with follow‑up items, schedule monitoring, and document management.
  • (For full‑time candidates) assist with business development or marketing coordination efforts as time allows.
Preferred Background / Experience
  • Familiarity with waterproofing systems, concrete repair techniques, or building envelope restoration is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in construction administration, field coordination, or a related role.
  • Strong written communication, organization, and observation skills.
  • Demonstrated patience and professionalism when interacting with residents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and basic project management tools.
  • Knowledge of building systems, technical drawings, specifications, and field reporting standards.
  • Candidates with additional licenses, certifications, or registrations are preferred.
  • Must have reliable transportation to Marina del Rey.
Work Schedule & Compensation
  • Flexible, field‑based schedule — typically several hours per day, depending on workload.
  • Competitive hourly rate or salary depending on experience and role structure (depends on candidate).
  • Reports directly to the Principal and Senior Project Director.
Benefits & Incentives
  • Health insurance eligibility after 90 days of employment (for full‑time employees).
  • Retirement plan contributions (e.g., 401(k) matching or employer contributions) may be offered where feasible; the firm anticipates utilizing available IRS tax credits and incentives under current law to offset employer costs.
  • Holiday pay (for salaried employees), professional development opportunities, and long‑term growth potential as the firm expands.

We are an equal‑opportunity employer and value diversity in our workplace.
