Job summary

Turner Construction in Charlotte, NC is seeking a construction Intern/Co-Op to gain hands-on experience on an active project site. You will work under supervision, supporting the project team with coordination, documentation, and reporting while applying classroom knowledge to real-life construction activities.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a degree program related to Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or similar.
• At least 1 year of completed education or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years old and able to work on a construction site.
• Strong communication and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support project team with meeting coordination, material tracking, file management, document control, and progress reporting.
• Follow site signage and supervisor instructions.
• Provide progress reports to supervisor and learn construction management.
• Relate academic knowledge to work activities.
• Maintain professional relationships with employees, customers, clients, and subcontractors.
• Participate in training, meetings, and orientation.
• Comply with safety protocols and wear PPE.
• Assist with project start-up activities and support Project Engineer/Manager.
• Assist with collection and review of information for shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
• Assist with preparation of estimates for changes in work from subcontractors.
• Attend project site visits.
• Assist with correspondence to Architects, Engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Assist with communication to Trades to track schedules.
