Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Intern to support day-to-day activities on an active construction project. You will gain foundational knowledge in construction management, project coordination, safety, and quality control while contributing to project lifecycle tasks.

Under supervision, you will assist with meeting coordination, document control, progress reporting, and learning from project engineers, superintendents, and managers.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college or university degree program, preferably in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• Engages in hands-on learning to apply classroom knowledge on a live project.
• Demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project start-up activities and support to Project Engineer, Superintendent, and/or Project Manager.
• Assist with collection and review of information and approvals for processing shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
• Assist with preparation and distribution of information for contract requirements to appropriate parties.
• Assist with preparation of estimates for changes in work from subcontractors.
• Attend project site visits to observe and document construction field activities.
• Communicate with Architects, Engineers, vendors, and subcontractors regarding assigned trades.
• Assist with monitoring safety program and PPE compliance.
• Assist with quantity take-offs and study preparation using traditional or computer-aided tools.
