Job summary

FCL Builders is seeking a Project Assistant in Itasca, IL to provide essential administrative support to Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle. You will help keep project documentation accurate and up to date while coordinating and delivering successful projects.

Reporting to the Manager of Project Administration, you will engage in document control, files, warranties, submittals, and meetings, as part of a collaborative project management team.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of construction administration experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating among internal teams, subcontractors, owners, and external partners.
• Excellent mathematical and problem-solving skills with attention to document accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Project Managers to compile accurate legal and contract documents.
• Set up and maintain physical job files, owner status books, and warranty packages including letters and manuals.
• Distribute subcontractor contracts with insurance requirements and track certificates.
• Enter and track proposed change orders and owner change orders after PM approval.
• Upload and maintain project information in construction software (drawings, logs, submittals, RFIs).
• Prepare business correspondence, permit responses, meeting minutes, and transmittals for meetings.
