M. J. Electric, LLC seeks a talented Project Accountant to manage financials for construction projects and provide accounting support to operations. You will work with project managers, track budgets, and ensure accurate reporting.

Responsibilities include inputting contracts in JDE, processing invoices, monitoring AR, and assisting with audits while upholding GAAP and budgeting standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting fundamentals.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
• Familiarity with construction billing (AIA forms, retainage).
• Able to assemble data for financial reports.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficient with MS Office and JDE systems.
• Analytical, detail-oriented with good problem solving.
• Solid time management and organization under deadlines.
• Understanding of construction terminology and workflows.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance.
• 1–3 years construction finance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial health of specific projects by tracking costs and budgets.
• Collaborate with project managers to provide financial guidance.
• Analyze monthly forecast reports for reasonableness.
• Investigate revenue and variances for accurate reporting.
• Oversee input of contracts, cost budgets, change orders in JDE.
• Process invoices, payments and change orders timely.
• Ensure contract terms and billing schedules compliance.
• Monitor AR aging and assist with past-due invoices.
• Process job setups and closeouts timely.
• Coordinate weekly craft time submissions for accuracy.
• Assist Project Controller with forecast, variance explanations.
• Ensure adherence to revenue risk controls.
• Compile information for internal/external audits.
