Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Project Accountant to coordinate all phases of the construction job costing process for a large project in Texas. You will categorize, record, analyze, and monitor costs and billings while ensuring vendor compliance to manage project risk, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure timely and accurate accounting throughout the project life cycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• 3–5 years of project accounting experience preferred.
• Strong accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate monthly project billings per contract requirements.
• Perform financial analysis and reconciliation of project costs versus budget.
• Process project accounts payable and subcontracts payable.
• Manage vendor compliance, insurance, lien waivers, retention and W-9s.
• Produce and analyze job performance and profitability through cost tracking reports.
• Assist in status reports and maintain accurate project statuses and budget information.
• Identify and resolve project-related accounting issues.
