Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Project Accountant to coordinate all phases of the construction job costing process for a major project and several smaller ones. You will work with the Project Manager to ensure timely, accurate accounting and risk management throughout the project life cycle.

Responsibilities include compiling monthly billings, analyzing costs vs budgets, managing vendor compliance, and producing profitability reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of project accounting experience preferred.
• Strong accounting knowledge.
• Detail-oriented with strong organization.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Compile, prepare, and analyze monthly project billings per contract requirements.
• Perform financial analysis and reconcile project costs vs budget.
• Manage vendor compliance, insurance, lien waivers, retention and W-9s
• Produce and analyze job performance and profitability through cost tracking reports.
• Assist in status reports and maintain accurate project statuses and budgets in COINs.
• Identify and resolve basic and complex project accounting issues promptly.
