Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Business Development Manager to own the market relationships and the pipeline for testing and inspection services. You will work with a seller-doer engineer to price and seal the technical side, while you manage relationships, pipeline, and closing deals.

The role emphasizes building a network, pursuing opportunities from discovery through contract signing, with base salary plus commission and travel to client sites and Sugar Land for planning.

Qualifications

• 5+ years selling professional or technical services to the construction industry.
• Established network of contractors, owners, or design firms in the posting market.
• Disciplined pipeline habits: documented, forecastable, and honest.
• Comfortable discussing specifications, schedules with a superintendent, and contract terms with owners.

Responsibilities

• Build a target list of contractors, owners, developers, and design firms; own relationships end to end.
• Track permits, bid boards, and project announcements to identify work before award.
• Manage pursuit pipeline from first contact through proposal, negotiation, and signed agreement.
• Coordinate proposals with the engineering team: scope, pricing, qualifications, and follow-up.
• Represent the company at industry events and report pipeline and results monthly.
• Travel locally as needed; occasional travel to Sugar Land for planning.
