Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a Structural Engineer for the SR400 Express Lanes Project in Georgia. You will deliver construction-phase engineering support for bridge and structural work, review submittals, and develop calculations under tight deadlines.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree (MSc preferred), 5–10 years in bridge design, and proficiency with SAP2000, CUBUS, or Sofistik. PE license is a plus; relocation may be available.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent; MSc preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience in structural design and analysis of bridge structures.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, CUBUS, Sofistik, or similar tools.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain one, is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide structural engineering support to the construction team during bridge and structural works.
• Review shop drawings, rebar detailing, precast and structural steel submittals, and construction methods for conformance with design intent.
• Design and verify temporary works (formwork, falsework, shoring, lifting plans) and coordinate their review and approval.
• Prepare construction-phase calculations and technical documentation, including load checks and field change evaluations.
• Respond to RFIs and field technical queries; coordinate with the Designer of Record and drafting team.
• Perform constructability reviews of design packages and propose practical solutions.
• Apply relevant structural codes and standards (AASHTO LRFD, GDOT, ACI, AISC).
• Support field engineers and QC with technical guidance on tolerances and non-conformances.
• Participate in multidisciplinary coordination to ensure interfaces between design and construction.
• Support the Technical Director with analyses and engineering solutions throughout construction stages.
