ACCIONA is seeking a Roadway Design Engineer to contribute to the SR400 Express Lanes project in Georgia. The role focuses on geometry, alignment, drainage, and producing constructible designs for a multi-year, multi-billion infrastructure program.

You will collaborate with project managers, environmental specialists, and construction teams, ensuring compliance with AASHTO standards, coordinating with agencies, and mentoring junior staff while delivering on schedule and budget targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Minimum 3 years of roadway design experience on large infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation.
• Knowledge of AASHTO and federal/state/local design standards.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams (traffic, environmental, construction).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to safety and sustainable roadway design.

Responsibilities

• Execute the design of roadway geometry, alignment, cross-sections, and drainage for SR400 Express Lanes.
• Develop and review plans, specs, and estimates for roadway design in compliance with codes.
• Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, environmental specialists, and engineers.
• Perform engineering analyses and simulations related to traffic flow and road safety.
• Coordinate with local agencies and utilities to address design constraints.
• Review and manage construction documents, plans, reports, and other technical docs.
• Ensure designs meet schedule, budget, and quality targets.
• Provide technical mentoring to junior engineers and designers.
• Ensure designs comply with environmental regulations and sustainability.
• Participate in project meetings and assist with timelines, budgets, scopes.
• Stay current with new roadway design standards and technologies.
