Responsibilities

As a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician, you will conduct on-site testing of concrete, soils, and other construction materials. You will use a company-provided vehicle to travel to various job sites within the area. We provide comprehensive on-the-job training and opportunities to obtain future certifications in construction materials testing. Successful candidates enjoy outdoor work, demonstrate reliability and independence, and work well with colleagues and clients.

• Please note that duties may vary based on company needs.
• Ensure testing equipment functions properly, is maintained, and calibrated as required
• Meet project testing requirements, ensuring compliance with specifications and policies
• Travel to job sites, perform sampling and testing, and return samples for testing
• Accurately report data in accordance with testing procedures
• Operate and maintain testing equipment and company vehicles
• Communicate current job status to dispatch or supervisors via cellular phone
• Maintain punctuality and attendance for scheduled jobs
• Prepare testing reports using Field Data Collection (FDC) software and manage email correspondence
• Willingness to travel within Alabama if applicable
• Complete daily reports and paperwork as required
• Support flexible schedules, including overnight and weekend work if needed
• Follow all safety procedures and policies
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old with a high school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable record
• Ability to lift 50-75 pounds repeatedly, with or without accommodations
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and interpreting safety and operational documents; effective communication skills
• Computer skills for operating laptops, email, and data input software
• Math skills for basic calculations in various units of measure
• Reasoning ability to follow instructions in various formats
• Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the location; remote work or relocation assistance is not provided. Applications from outside the continental U.S. will not be considered.
