PALFINGER, a global leader in lifting solutions with over 90 years of experience, is seeking an experienced Field Service Mechanic to service truck-mounted equipment in the Chicago, IL area. This remote position reports to the Regional Service Manager.

Responsibilities

• Perform field repairs and troubleshooting of cranes, forklifts, conveyors, trucks, and trailers with a high degree of independence.
• Conduct quarterly preventive maintenance, annual DOT inspections, and warranty services.
• Provide emergency repairs and troubleshooting during and outside of working hours.
• Communicate mechanical issues and repairs effectively to job site and fleet managers.
• Maintain accurate service documentation, including estimates, work orders, parts, and inventory records.
• Follow safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical troubleshooting, diagnostics, and welding.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and lift 75 lbs or more.
• At least 3 years of relevant mechanical experience, especially with cranes and forklifts.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Valid Class B CDL driver’s license or willingness to obtain within 60 days; clean driving record.
• Own tools; proprietary tools provided by PALFINGER.
