Field Technician I - Construction Materials Testing

Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) is seeking a Field CMT Technician to join our Building & Construction team in Lansing, MI.

Intertek-PSI is a leading US provider of assurance, testing, inspection, and consulting solutions in civil and commercial construction. Our services include construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. We ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of our clients' projects and assets.

Responsibilities:

• Perform testing, observations, and site assessments under supervision or from detailed procedures.
• Operate testing equipment and analyze data, such as soil and concrete testing.
• Work with drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
• Observe site activities and perform tasks using specific methods.
• Document detailed observations and interpret results.
• Maintain accurate records of test data.
• Calculate test results using a calculator.
• Communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
• Follow safety practices and policies to ensure safety at work.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• No experience required; training and advancement opportunities available.
• Experience in field or laboratory construction materials testing is a plus.
• Basic math, calculator, and computer skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand work plans.
• Flexibility to work shifts and overtime.
• Valid Driver's License.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift, move, push, and pull 30-50 pounds frequently; over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Receive detailed oral information and discern sounds.
• Kneel, squat, walk, and stand for long periods.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Climb occasionally.
