Job summary

S&ME is seeking a Construction Materials Project Manager to lead CMT and Special Inspection projects from kickoff through closeout. You will oversee technical execution, mentor field staff, and nurture client relationships while ensuring quality and compliance.

Based in Columbia, SC or Augusta, GA, this role combines project management, field oversight, and business development to advance project performance and organizational growth. A PE license or progress toward one is expected.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Special Inspection (SI)
• 2+ years in a project management role
• PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
• Active ICC, ACI, and DOT certifications preferred
• Strong knowledge of ACI, ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, and IBC Special Inspections requirements

Responsibilities

• Lead CMT and SI projects from kickoff to closeout, managing budget, schedule, and resources
• Collaborate with clients and contractors through meetings and site visits
• Mentor technicians and engineers to ensure accurate testing and quality reporting
• Oversee reports, proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates
• Develop and grow client relationships and market presence through industry networks
