Job summary

S&ME in the Columbia, SC area is seeking a Construction Materials Project Manager to lead CMT and Special Inspection projects from kickoff to closeout. You will mentor field staff, coordinate with clients and contractors, ensure compliance with IBC and industry standards, and contribute to business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or related Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years of Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Special Inspection (SI) experience, including 2+ years in a project management role.
• PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Active ICC, ACI, and DOT certifications preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ACI, ASTM, AASHTO, DOT standards and IBC Special Inspections.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to develop, review, and deliver technical reports and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead CMT and SI projects from start to finish, including budgeting, scheduling, resource coordination, and technical oversight.
• Collaborate with clients and contractors through meetings and site visits to confirm project requirements and maintain relationships.
• Provide technical oversight and mentor technicians and engineers to ensure quality reporting and adherence to specs.
• Oversee reports, proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates for accuracy and timely delivery.
• Support business development and networking to grow local market presence and opportunities.
