Job summary

S&ME in Augusta, Georgia seeks a Construction Materials Project Manager to lead CMT and Special Inspection projects from planning through delivery. You will supervise field staff, ensure quality and regulatory compliance, and maintain strong client relationships to support project success and organizational growth.

The role requires a Civil/Geotechnical engineering background, 4+ years in construction materials testing/inspection, and a PE or path to licensure within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or a related engineering field.
• Minimum 4 years in construction materials testing/inspection.
• PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• ICC, ACI, and DOT certifications are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of ACI, ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT standards and IBC Special Inspections.

Responsibilities

• Lead CMT and Special Inspection projects from start to finish, managing budgets, schedules, staffing and technical direction to meet plans and specs.
• Coordinate with clients and contractors through meetings and site visits to ensure project progress and relationships.
• Provide technical guidance, supervise field inspections, document site activities, and support reporting and compliance.
• Prepare reports, proposals, technical scopes and cost estimates, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Support business development by growing client partnerships and participating in professional organizations.
