Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) is seeking a Materials Manager in Adelanto, CA to oversee sourcing, procurement, logistics and on-site contractor management for projects. This role ensures efficient material flow and aligns with construction schedules.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma with 2+ years of experience; a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years in construction EPC or energy delivery is preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages industry best material management practices and resources with client.
• Works with customer approved local vendors to quickly obtain materials when expedited requests are needed.
• Collaborates with procurement to ensure materials meet schedules and communicate with client, project team and vendors.
• Performs material take-offs with engineering, project management and construction to determine needed materials.
• Manages lead times and material availability, forecasting and reservations aligned to schedules.
• Interfaces with vendors to ensure logistics and timely delivery.
• Monitors changes to material requirements and addresses discrepancies.
• Prepares Materials Management Execution Plan as needed.
• Manages receiving, issuing materials, equipment and consumables for construction.
• Optimizes warehouse layout to maximize space and streamline operations.
• Ensures inventory handling complies with requirements and specs.
• Coordinates material inquiries between project stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Plans phase bundling, structure staging and kitting for efficiency.
• Performs on-site material audits for inventory accuracy.
• Inputs data into inventory system (ClearSpider) for real-time reporting.
• Directs off-loading and storage of materials for construction.
• Handles project closeout for materials and POs, including disposition of excess materials.
