Job summary

Pacific Life is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our Construction Services team in Newport Beach, CA. The role supports ground-up multi-family, student housing, and industrial projects, with potential for full remote work for the right candidate.

You will review project status, manage documentation, and ensure construction aligns with approved plans while collaborating with loan and equity teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in the construction industry in either General Contracting as a Construction Project Manager or Ownership/Development as a Construction Manager.
• 4-year degree preferred or equivalent work experience in construction.
• Proficient knowledge of plans and specifications, construction contracts and the loan draw review process.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities and work under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, OneDrive, Adobe Acrobat Pro, SharePoint and Procore.
• Travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Review construction documents and property condition assessments to evaluate risks and provide feedback during closing due diligence.
• Interpret internal or external business issues and recommend process or product improvements.
• Solve complex problems with broad perspective and develop innovative solutions.
• Monitor construction through completion to protect against faulty construction and ensure conformance with documents; travel for on-site draw meetings.
• Understand how loan documents relate to construction deals and participate in kick-off meetings for new projects.
• Maintain extensive project documentation and records for internal use and distribution.
