Job summary

Pacific Life is seeking a Construction Manager to join the Construction Services team in Newport Beach, CA. The role focuses on reviewing construction aspects and moving projects forward within a team of four managers, with remote consideration for the right candidate.

The position requires 10+ years in construction, a 4-year degree (preferred), and travel. Procore, MS Office, SharePoint, and related tools are used daily to manage documents and communications.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in the construction industry, from GC PM or Owner/Developer side.
• 4-year degree preferred or equivalent work experience in construction.
• Proficient knowledge of plans, specs, contracts and loan draw review.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency with MS Office 365, OneDrive, Adobe Acrobat Pro, SharePoint and Procore.
• Willingness to travel for on-site meetings.
• Travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Review construction documents and property condition assessments to evaluate risks and provide feedback to teams during due diligence.
• Interpret internal or external business issues and recommend improvements.
• Solve complex problems with a broad perspective and innovative solutions.
• Monitor construction through completion and travel for on-site draw meetings to protect quality.
• Understand loan documents related to construction deals and attend kick-off meetings for new projects.
• Maintain extensive project documentation and records for internal use and distribution.
