Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Chicago, IL offers a Summer 2027 internship at our active project sites. The Intern/Co-Op will assist a project team with scheduling, documentation, and learning construction management fundamentals while supporting safety and quality controls.

You will gain exposure to project lifecycle tasks, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and coordination with architects, engineers, and subcontractors, with mentorship and possible academic credit.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college/university degree program, or co-op; minimum 1 year completed.
• Must be 18+ years old to work at a construction site.
• Desire to learn construction management and industry basics.
• Commitment to standard hours and overtime as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Support project team with meeting coordination, material tracking, file management, and progress reporting.
• Follow site safety rules, PPE, and supervisor instructions.
• Provide progress reports and learn construction management concepts.
• Assist with start-up activities, submittals, RFIs, and contract information.
• Assist with quantity take-offs and project communications as directed.
