Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Denver seeks an Intern to assist on active construction projects. You will be supervised at a project site or main office, gaining hands-on experience in construction management, safety protocols, subcontractor relations, and project coordination while earning educational credit where applicable.

You will learn to support the project team, manage documentation, and relate academic knowledge to real-world project tasks.

Qualifications

• Enrolled and actively pursuing college or university accredited degree program, majors include Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field, with at least 1 year of completed education.
• Must be 18 years of age to work on a construction project site.
• Desire to work in construction management and to learn about the construction industry.
• Commitment to standard business hours and overtime as determined by assignment.
• Ability to read and comprehend written information.
• Professional and clear verbal and written communication in English.
• Able to work independently with direction and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Support project team with meeting coordination, material tracking, file management, document control, and progress reporting.
• Follow project site signage and supervisor instructions.
• Provide progress reports to supervisor and learn about construction management.
• Relate and apply academic knowledge to work activities.
• Maintain professional relationships with employees, customers, clients, and subcontractors.
• Participate in training, meetings and orientation.
• Comply with safety protocols and wear PPE.
• Assist with start-up activities, project engineer/superintendent/manager support.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings processing.
