Job summary

Turner Construction's Chicago office is seeking a Summer Intern/Co-Op to gain hands-on construction management experience on an active project site in Chicago, IL. You will be supervised and assigned to tasks across coordination, document control, safety, and learning the project lifecycle.

You must be enrolled in a degree program (Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management) and be 18+, with strong English communication and detail orientation.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college/university program pursuing engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field.
• Must be 18+ and able to work at a construction site.
• Desire to learn about construction management and industry.
• Willing to work standard hours with potential overtime.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist on active construction projects with supervision.
• Support project team with meetings, tracking, documents, and progress reporting.
• Follow site safety rules and wear PPE.
• Help prepare start-up activities and support Project Engineer/Manager.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and contract information.
• Attend site visits and coordinate communications with architects, engineers, vendors.
• Assist in quantity take-offs and basic estimates.
• Contribute to project close-out activities.
