Job summary

TAI is seeking a Construction Licensing & Business Compliance Manager to oversee contractor licensing, registrations, and prequalification across multiple states. You’ll partner with Legal, Finance, Risk, and Procurement to maintain a robust compliance infrastructure supporting project pursuit and execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 5–8+ years of progressive experience in contractor licensing, compliance, contract administration, risk, or insurance.
• Experience managing multi-state licensing, registrations and compliance across jurisdictions.
• Experience reviewing contracts and identifying licensing, regulatory, insurance, tax and compliance obligations.
• Knowledge of construction contracts, COIs, prequalification processes, and sales/use tax concepts.

Responsibilities

• Administer contractor licenses, business registrations, foreign qualifications, trade names and renewals.
• Research licensing requirements before bids, contracts, or mobilization in new jurisdictions.
• Maintain a jurisdictional requirements matrix with sources, owners, approvals and expirations.
• Coordinate applications requiring qualifying individuals, filings, or officer signatures.
• Provide leadership with readiness status and risks; escalate complex issues to Legal.
• Review client contracts to identify licensing, insurance, tax and prequalification obligations.
• Maintain obligation trackers and coordinate with functional teams to complete them.
• Coordinate COIs, endorsements and client insurance documents; verify against contract risk specs.
• Establish a centralized compliance calendar and automated reporting dashboards.
• Monitor regulatory changes and propose practical process improvements.
