Job summary

Mortenson is currently seeking a Laborer who will assist Laborers and Laborer Journeyman with material handling, assembling and dismantling equipment, and preparing work areas. Responsibilities include cleaning machines, erecting scaffolding, leveling ground, and pouring and vibrating concrete.

The role emphasizes strong teamwork, safety, and effective communication, with duties and responsibilities that may evolve.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction preferred.
• Ability to operate power and non-powered tools and equipment.
• Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication.
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
• Duties may change without notice.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment.
• Prepare, handle, and supply materials and tools to be used by other crafts.
• Clean work area, machines, and equipment.
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging.
• Level ground for scaffolding.
• Tend motor and grout: lift, unload, move, set, and shovel between wheelbarrows and buckets.
• General cleanup and clearing of debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and loading or burning of debris.
• Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete.
• Vibrate concrete.
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• All other duties as assigned.
