Job summary

Caton Construction Group in Marion, Virginia is seeking a General Laborer for our roadway/bridge project. The laborer performs tasks involved in general building and highway/heavy construction, using hand and power tools, and may assist foremen and other crew members on site.

The starting pay is negotiable and based on skills and experience. Normal hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., with local work or possible overnight stays for out-of-town assignments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license required.
• 2+ years of heavy highway, road, bridge, DOT or site work experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs manual labor on general building and highway/heavy construction projects.
• Operates hand and power tools and assists foremen and other supervisors.
• Shovels asphalt, excavates and fills trenches, and maintains a clean, safe job site.
• Loads/unloads materials, handles storage, and follows safety procedures.
• May assist with form work, traffic control, and flagging as needed.
• Adheres to company safety rules at all times.
